The Pickerington Area Chamber’s Downsizing & Senior Care Expo, presented by Mount Carmel and Dwayne Spence Funeral Home & Advanced Planning, is Saturday, June 21, and is FREE TO THE PUBLIC! This event features a large expo with vendors representing the numerous and varied companies, organizations, and industries that serve the senior and caregiver population. This interactive and dynamic event will include screenings, demos (yoga/cardio), patient portal help desks, and chair volleyball matches! Exhibit hall is open 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The event will feature educational/informative sessions throughout the day on topics including downsizing; pros and cons of living in place/downsizing/independent living/assisted living and other options; brain health; Medicare 101, advanced planning; estate planning/elder law; setting up home for safety/dementia care; having the conversation about driving; managing medications. It will end with a panel of experts on senior care and services with an opportunity for Q&A. Info sessions will run from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The first 100 attendees are provided a free sack lunch, courtesy of Meals on Wheels. Valet parking will be available for those who have limited mobility.
