Teens will explore real military history through two rotating hands-on sessions—creating their own dog tags and designing a personalized military-inspired patch.
The National Veterans Memorial and Museum is bringing an interactive learning experience to the library! Teens will rotate through two hands-on workshops led by museum educators. In "Military Identification Cards (Dog Tags)", participants will explore the history and purpose of military ID tags and create their own using wooden blanks. In "Designs and Symbols: Heraldry and the U.S. Military," teens will learn how symbols and insignias represent military identity and then design a personalized patch using fabric markers.
