Join us after school to design your own suffragette sash while listening to the audiobook "How Women Won the Vote" by Newbery Honor author Susan Campbell Bartoletti.
Celebrate Women’s History Month with an all-ages, after-school crafting experience that connects art to history. Participants will create their own suffragette sashes, inspired by the iconic colors, slogans, and symbols used by the women who fought for the right to vote. While crafting, we’ll listen to the audiobook How Women Won the Vote by Newbery Honor medalist Susan Campbell Bartoletti—a powerful, under-one-hour exploration of the courageous leaders and bold strategies that shaped the suffrage movement. This hands-on program offers a welcoming, educational space for children, teens, and adults to learn, create, and honor the trailblazing women who changed American democracy.
The audiobook is recommended for ages 8 and up. Parental discretion is advised.
