The Declaration of Independence looms large in America's history, but how much do you really know about it? Whether you're an avid history buff or only know the basics of American government, you're bound to learn something new!
Join Charles Smith of The Ohio State University Political Science Department for a lecture on the writing of the Declaration of Independence, its importance in American history since the Revolutionary War, and its role in public imagination from its creation into the 21st century. With a Q&A and facilitated discussion, this event is ideal for adults and for teenagers entering or in high school.

Charles Smith holds an MA in Political Science from The Ohio State University, where he currently serves as an associate faculty member in the Department of Political Science. His research and teaching focus on political theory, American government, Constitutional law, and the Second Amendment.
