Visitors to the library often see our resident vultures on our roof or in the surrounding trees. Join us for a fascinating look at one of nature’s most misunderstood creatures—the vulture. This program explores why these remarkable birds—neither prey nor predator—are essential to healthy ecosystems. Learn about the global threats facing many of the world’s 23 vulture species, the surprising ways vultures help the environment, and the extraordinary conservation success story of the California condor, once nearly extinct. We’ll also take a closer look at Ohio’s two native vulture species and discuss how each of us can support their continued survival. Perfect for nature lovers and curious minds alike!
