Meeting Room A

Love podcasts? Fascinated by true crime? Join us for our True Crime Podcast Club—a book club-style discussion group, but for podcasts!

Join us for this month’s Podcast Club as we listen to and discuss two podcast episodes investigating the Rocky River Reservation double homicide, often called the “Cleveland park bench murders.”  On June 4, 2019, Carnell Sledge and Katherine Brown were shot while sitting on a bench in a Cleveland Metroparks area near Fairview Park, Ohio. The killings happened in the late afternoon in a normally busy park, but no witnesses clearly saw the attacker. Despite an extensive investigation involving local police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the case remains unsolved.

Together, we’ll explore how each podcast tells the story, the investigation that followed, and the broader issues raised by this unsolved mystery. Come ready to listen, reflect, and share your thoughts in a respectful group discussion.

Recommended for adults due to content.

Before the meeting, please listen to the following free podcasts on your favorite podcast platform:

True Crime Garage - "Park Bench Murders" 2/11/25 & 2/12/25 (2 parts)

True Crime with Kendall Rae - "Shot in Broad Daylight on a Park Bench" 11/14/2024
